An All-Inclusive MTB Adventure in the Swiss Alps with Darius and Archie

Some mountain bike trips feel special right from the start — and this past week in Verbier, Valais, with Darius and his son Archie, was exactly that. Guiding them on a full all-inclusive MTB holiday in the Swiss Alps was more than just riding bikes; it was about sharing experiences, laughter, and the beauty of the mountains together.

Day 1 – Into the Mist

Our first ride set the tone. We climbed into the soft alpine mist toward the alpage of Le Cœur, where the atmosphere felt almost magical. From there, we dropped into flowing alpine singletrack and smooth forest trails, the kind that make every turn unforgettable. To finish, a bus ride up to Champex-Lac gave us access to a series of playful switchbacks — a true highlight of mountain biking in Valais.

Day 2 – Crossing into Italy

The next day, we took the bus up to the Grand-Saint-Bernard Pass, right on the Swiss-Italian border. From the top, we rode a long descent into Italy, where we stopped for a well-deserved cappuccino. The return climb — a hike-a-bike section back into Switzerland — revealed stunning views of the Mont Blanc range and sparkling alpine lakes. Our reward was a mega downhill run all the way back to Verbier, where fresh cake was waiting. Few bike holidays end a ride as sweetly.

Day 3 – Balcony Trails and Ice Cream

To wrap up the week, we shuttled and pedaled to the Portail de Fully. From there, a spectacular balcony trail led us high above the valley, with breathtaking views and flowy riding. The descent carried us thousands of vertical meters down into the valley, finishing right in town. We rolled straight into a local café for well-earned ice cream — the perfect way to end an epic day of mountain biking in the Swiss Alps.

A Week to Remember
